Dome Marquee Tent for Hire – 200 to 6,500 Guests
The Dome Marquee is our largest structure and the one used when an event outgrows every other tent. It comes in 13 sizes from 20m x 30m, seating around 200 guests restaurant-style, up to 140m x 30m seating 6,500 theatre-style — chairs, tables and place settings are available from our hire range. The interior is fully clear-span with no columns anywhere in the floor, carried on an engineered aluminium superstructure under a curved dome roof. Because this is a project rather than a delivery, the hire is structured differently from our other tents: professional drapery, ceiling drapery and basic flood lighting are included, as is full installation and dismantling by our experienced team. Transport is quoted by venue location. Installation takes one to three days depending on the size, so these are booked well in advance rather than at short notice. Suitable for international conferences, trade exhibitions and expos, music festivals and concerts, mega weddings and ruracio ceremonies, church conventions and crusades, national and county celebrations, product launches at scale, graduation ceremonies and all types of events across Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and major towns in Kenya.

What the Dome Marquee Is Used For
The Dome Marquee is hired when an event outgrows every other structure: international conferences and summits, trade exhibitions and expos, music festivals and concerts, mega weddings and ruracio ceremonies, church conventions and crusades, national and county celebrations, graduation ceremonies, large-scale product launches, agricultural shows, sporting hospitality — and all other events and occasions where between two hundred and six and a half thousand people need to be under one roof.
At this scale the structure is a venue rather than a tent. The curved dome roofline is engineered on an aluminium superstructure, the interior is entirely column-free at any size, and the hire is run as a project with our team managing installation and dismantling.
Sizing, Lead Time and What Is Included
Thirteen sizes run from 20m x 30m, seating around 200 guests restaurant-style, to 140m x 30m seating 6,500 theatre-style, so the first conversation is about numbers and seating configuration rather than a fixed tent. Installation takes one to three days depending on size, which means this is booked weeks ahead, not days. Unlike our smaller tents, the hire includes professional drapery, ceiling drapery and basic flood lighting, plus full installation and dismantling by our team; transport is quoted by venue location. Site requirements scale accordingly — level ground, vehicle access for multiple loads, and a secure area for equipment across a multi-day build.
Frequently Asked Questions
From around 200 in the smallest 20m x 30m size up to 6,500 in the largest 140m x 30m, across 13 sizes. Restaurant-style seating with tables holds fewer than theatre-style rows in the same structure, so tell us both your guest count and your seating plan.
Professional drapery, ceiling drapery and basic flood lighting are included, as is full installation and dismantling by our team. Transport is quoted separately by venue location.
Weeks rather than days. Installation alone takes one to three days depending on size, and a structure of this scale requires site planning, logistics and crew scheduling before delivery day.
Yes, at every size. The load is carried by the aluminium superstructure at the perimeter, so there are no columns anywhere in the floor area — which is what makes a 6,500-seat layout or a central stage possible.
Yes. Dome marquees are supplied across Kenya including Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and all major towns. Transport is quoted by distance, and for out-of-town builds the crew and equipment are scheduled as a single project.
For 200 guests on a community budget, the 12x18m cheese tent is far cheaper. For 100 guests with a premium clear span, see the 10x10m B Line or the A Frame Miluxe sections.
Large-Scale Marquee Hire: Planning an Event for 500 to 6,500
A practical guide to sizing, siting, pricing and furnishing this tent for events in Nairobi and across Kenya.
When a Tent Becomes a Venue
There is a threshold, somewhere around two to three hundred guests, where hiring a tent stops being a purchase and becomes a project. Below it you choose a size, agree a delivery slot and the crew is gone in two hours. Above it you are planning a build.
The dome marquee sits entirely on the far side of that line. Installation takes one to three days. The structure arrives across multiple loads. The site needs securing overnight. And the conversation starts with your guest count and seating plan rather than with a tent size, because thirteen different sizes are available and the right one depends on both.
Choosing a Size
Sizes run from 20m x 30m to 140m x 30m. The width is constant; the length is what scales. Capacity depends heavily on whether you are seating people at tables or in rows.
| Seating style | Space per guest | Suits | Capacity effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Restaurant (round tables) | Highest | Weddings, galas, banquets | Fewest guests per size |
| Theatre (rows, no tables) | Lowest | Conferences, crusades, ceremonies | Most guests per size |
| Mixed (tables + standing) | Medium | Exhibitions, launches, festivals | Between the two |
| With stage and dance floor | Add 15–20% | Concerts, receptions | Size up accordingly |
What Is Included — and What Is Not
This hire is structured differently from every other tent we supply, so it is worth being explicit. Professional drapery, ceiling drapery and basic flood lighting are included in the price. So is full installation and dismantling by our team.
Transport is quoted separately by venue location, because a build in Westlands and one in Mombasa are not comparable logistics. Furniture, catering equipment, specialist lighting, sound and staging are separate hires.
The reason drapery and lighting are bundled here when they are optional extras elsewhere is practical: at this scale nobody hires the structure bare, and rigging drapery into a dome during the build is far more efficient than fitting it afterwards.
Site Requirements at Scale
Level ground across the full footprint is the first requirement, and at 140m long that is a genuine constraint rather than a formality. Walk the site with us before booking rather than assuming.
Vehicle access matters more than for any other tent. The structure arrives across multiple loads over one to three days, and a route that works for a single van will not work here. Security is the third consideration: partially built structures and staged equipment stay on site overnight, so the venue needs to be securable.
Power for the build itself is worth confirming early, separately from event power.
Lead Times and Booking
Book weeks ahead, not days. Beyond installation time, a project of this size needs site assessment, logistics planning and crew scheduling, and the largest sizes are not sitting idle waiting for a call.
Events at this scale also cluster — conference season, festival dates, national celebrations and the wedding calendar all compete for the same weekends and the same equipment. If your date is fixed, secure the structure first and refine the specification afterwards.
We supply dome marquees across Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and major towns in Kenya, with out-of-town builds scheduled as single managed projects rather than deliveries.
